Tråd: 4GR reboots constantly

Hi all.

I purchased a Dovado 4GR router and can't figure what to do, the router keeps constantly rebooting itself (~10min interval) and of course this causes loss of internet connection. If I use my linux desktop as a router and DHCP server the mobile broadband connection is able to stay connected for days without interruptions.

I have tried switching connection tracking on and off, I set the time limit to 1200 minutes and method to failover to WAN, the router did that overnight but the rebooting issue still persists. Does the router have some kind of signal strenght limit that could cause the reboot, my 3G (dual carrier) signal is about 40-50% with the Huawei E392 modem.

Firmware version of the router is 6.0.1.

Any help would be appreciated.

Which IP addresses did you use? A reboot will only happen if you apply a "Redial & Restart" instead of fail-over to secondary interface.

I cannot see how this could be related to the IP addresses used, I defined the routers LAN address to 192.168.1.1 and the mobile broadband aquires the IP address via DHCP.

The router reboots even if connection tracking is disabled, I just used the failover to test if the router would follow the configration of the connection tracking feature. What I've read elsewhere, it seems that it's not possible to access the router's system logs as they are encrypted. Could it be that the device itself is faulty, or maybe the firmware...

Apply a firmware rescue as opposed to an upgrade.

I'll try implementing a firmware rescue with 6.0.1, seems a bit odd as the router was shipped with that version but let's try...

WE do not ship with 6.0.1 yet. Whoever sold it to you, did so. Could be a good idea to apply a 8 second factory reset, sir.

I tried the reset before and it did not help but I applied the firmware rescue and the router has not rebooted by itself yet smile I'll have to monitor the router behavior overnight but this seems a bit more promising.

And of course it was too good to be true, at 00:23:38 the router just rebooted itself. An then again at 00:27:15...
