That's a pity that the .bin file for the K5005 does not work. Most likely because the PID of the K5005 and your E398 do differ.
You could try the sniff tool on your own. Unfortunately, the sniff tool works only on Windows XP. As I'm running Windows 7, I installed Windows XP in a VirtualBox virtual machine, passed through all USB devices and sniffed the .bin file inside that VM.
Get the sniff tool from here: http://www.jakartawifi.com/downloads/Sn … P-LINK.zip
And use these instructions: http://www.jakartawifi.com/downloads/3g … guide1.pdf
I succeeded to get the needed information for the .bin file after installing the USB sniff filter for the device "Vodafone Mobile Broadband-USB Device (Huawei)" with the VID/PID "USB\Vid_12d1&Pid_14c3&Rev_0000". In your case the PID should be 1505 instead of 14c3. (As another scandinavian user does use that PID for his E398: http://oleniner.blogspot.com/2011/11/tp … 8-3g.html)
Once you succeeded to sniff the needed modeswitch information, please also post the content of the file "usbsnoop-dump-4-modeswitch" which is in the "Check" subdirectory. In my case it had the following content: "-m+1+-M+55534243000000000000000000000011060000000100000000000000000000".
