Tråd: AVM6840 International with LTE 800/1800/2600

The 6840 is now available in an international triband version with a user interface in English, German, French, Italian or Spanish.

The router merits special attention because of its unique capacity for signal measurements including real time graphs of RSRP, RSRQ and SINR representing all four combinations of base station transmitter and router antennas. This makes antenna installation a straightforward procedure.

Also, the router provides a network overview of all cells that can be received, regardless of the provider. This makes it possible to choose the best provider and to evaluate the interference situation. With the help of directional antennas, the signal from a desired cell can be enhanced while interfering cells are attenuated.

The main difference between the 6840 and the 6810 is that the latter only has internal antennas without provisions for connecting external antennas. There is also a 6842 triband model which, however, is only available with a German language user interface so far. For the LTE part it is very similar to the 6840 model but has fewer ports.

If you are interested in using the AVM6840 also on LTE 1800, be sure to get a router which was produced this year (Serial number starts with a D which stands for 2013, C was 2012).

Let's keep it in English on the International desk or whatever language someone might want to try except Swedish. Deutsch ou français is OK. Dutch, Italian, Spanish or Russian is also OK but answers will be in English.

The AVM routers (adsl, vdsl, LTE)  can be used with telephony in several ways. A fixed phone line, even ISDN, can be connected. You can also use VoIP. The router is in itself a DECT phone base station and there are handheld AVM Dect phones that you can buy to use with it. You can also use iphone or android handhelds and connect them over wifi, using AVM apps. The smartphones can be used as ordinary handhelds to connect over the fixed line or VoIP.

There is a built in answering machine.

You can connect  a fax line and get faxes forwarded as email.
